I have practiced as a physical therapist for over 30 years.  My entry into the field started when, as a teenager, I was involved in a motorcycle accident that landed me in the hospital for several weeks.  After a number of surgeries to put me back together, I underwent months of physical therapy rehab.  Years later as I was preparing to go off to college, I realized the deep impact my rehab experience had on me and that I wanted to make PT my life’s work, caring for people and being able to give back to patients what I had received over those months of rehab.

After graduating from the University of Vermont and practicing for a few years, I joined the Peace Corps and spent two years in Honduras working with physical therapists and patients in very difficult situations. This experience challenged me in many ways and influenced the person and therapist that I am today.

Upon returning to the United States, I resumed practicing and have worked in a number of settings. Throughout my career I have continuously broadened my skillset as a lifelong student of evidence-based approaches to treatment of a wide variety of conditions.  The last several years, my focus has been in the treatment of neural and musculoskeletal disorders with an emphasis on spinal problems, chronic pain, injury and fall prevention, and vestibular disorders including positional vertigo, dizziness and imbalance, and post-concussion syndrome.

As a musculoskeletal physical therapist, I employ a lot of manual therapy techniques to help the body start the healing process and am certified in myofascial trigger point dry needling and advanced soft tissue mobilization techniques.  In my work with chronic pain syndromes, I incorporate a holistic approach including addressing the mind-body connection and help individuals begin the process regaining their life again.

I continue to be as passionate about physical therapy and about caring for people today as I was more than 30 years ago.  My mission remains to provide the highest quality of care possible to help individuals achieve their goals and reach their maximum level of functioning.
